The Art of Washington State: A Hidden Legacy
David F. Martin, curator for the Cascadia Art Museum in Edmonds WA, will discuss the art and lives of Washington state artists active in the period 1900-1960. Many of the artists were well known during their lifetimes but subsequently forgotten beginning in the 1960’s. He will have a particular focus on women and minority artists.
David F. Martin is the leading authority on the art history of Washington State. He has written numerous books and articles on regional activities in painting, printmaking and photography. He has lectured internationally on historic Northwest artists and will be speaking at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in March, 2025.

Drink & Draw
Grab a glass of wine or a bubbly water, a drawing pad, and some charcoal or pencils! Sketch from a live costumed model, and a Gage monitor will time poses and offer up some drawing tips throughout the session.

Art Lab
Explore and try out new mediums! Led by a Gage Teaching Artist, you are invited to play with a medium that you're not familiar with– charcoal, printmaking, clay, or oil. Get back to the basics!
